This is much worse of a lie because it is directly disprovable. First, Venezuela has no Pacific coast, and about half the boat murders have been in Pacific. Most of the boat murders have been on visibly empty speed boats that would not have the range to reach the US. It does not grow Cocaine, and there is no reason for Columbians to have middle men in Venezuela to ship drugs by boat. CIA operations in Venezuela have been to bribe Narco gangs in last election, and Guaido is/was the one with deep drug connections.

While relations with Columbia and Trump have chilled over boat murders, they participated in immigrant rendition program, and are a CIA approved colonial government. Because of murder criticism, Trump removed drug interdiction assistance to Columbia, while at the same time, that is the only country responsible for any cocaine traffic to US/world.

So, it is pure "win a war theoretically winnable" distraction based on demonic evil ambitions of capturing oil reserves from a government who would naturally be more popular for distributing oil wealth to its people rather than Colonizers. That the world has bigger problems with US than denouncing its demonic evil, means they won't denounce invasions of Canada or Greenland either.
