Does anyone know of any useful extensions for Lemmy? The site is pretty usable without any extensions, but that's what I thought about Reddit before I learned about Reddit Enhancement Suite many years ago.

Lemmy is a bit too niche and also it's open source so if someone has a big enough issue to develop a whole extension for it, they may as well just make those changes directly to Lemmy.

Have you looked at alternative Lemmy interfaces? Your instance hosts a few. https://fedecan.ca/en/guide/lemmy/for-users/alternative-uis

https://old.lemmy.ca/ seems to be down but you can check https://old.thelemmy.club/ if you want to see what MLMYM is like.

The other interfaces look pretty neat! Although, now that I think about it, is there a way to convert Lemmy links posted by people from a different instance to your home instance? I was trying out the Photon interface until I saw someone link a post from their home instance, and clicking on it brought me off Lemmy.ca entirely.

Some interfaces handle this automatically.

But there's also this: https://threadiverse.link/

For example, https://threadiverse.link/thelemmy.club/post/23939792

Ah, that's a pretty useful site. Thanks for letting me know!

Also, congrats on being the first to Rickroll me here on Lemmy lol.

Photon should automatically localize compatible post links, what link was it by chance?

Good question. I tried to find that comment again but can't seem to find it anymore. I'll report back if I bump into another Lemmy link that's from outside my home instance that doesn't get localized.
