It sounds like if it's implemented right it won't affect frame rate according to a guy on the Other Site, so there is some hope.

I am doing Steam so worst case I end up refunding it and buy the PS5 version if it's really stuttery.

My sim rig runs Linux, so while it may not impact framerate it almost certainly won't run on Linux or it will at least significantly impact online features. Denuvo has a history of triggering blanket bans for steamdeck users on other games for this reason.

Well that certainly sucks! Here's hoping they strip it out after 3 months or so.
