The man doesn’t hold a single personal opinion except that he is the greatest person ever. He copies all his opinions from whomever he talked to last.

whomever he talked to last.

In this case, Von der Leyen & Zelensky it seems.

Trump's Opinon Expiration date ( TOED) : max 30 September or earlier if listening to a different source.

On the Times Radio Trump report there is an example of this quoted regularly: the EU and the US were on the verge of a trade deal, to be signed during a weekend after getting the legwork done on a Thursday. On Friday the tariff czar Peter Navarro was all over the news (mainly Fox but not only) saying how horrible this deal was. Trump, who notoriously watches an unhealthy amount of TV, picked up on it and by the time the deal was supposed to be signed two days later, had changed his mind already and did a complete about-face raising tariffs instead of signing the deal.

Toddler politics at work.

That dementia is a bitch. He'll forget he ever said that by tomorrow.

But, shit, put something in front of him to sign right now and then GTFO as fast as possible.

This is what I've been thinking, his dementia is accelerating. Seems like he keeps saying things out loud that even seem out of character for him. E.g. Saying at the UN other countries are going to hell. I think parts of his brain are disappearing in front of us...

It’s absolutely happening. It’s gonna be another national nightmare dealing with it.

Midterms are a year away. It might be our last chance to avoid literal chaos.

I don't know if it is dementia. I mean, that wouldn't surprise me at all. However, the man has never had an internal dialog. He always blurts out what he is thinking as he is thinking it.

Dementia runs in his family. His dad had it, his grandad had it, his sister had it. He has it.

No shit. That's what the west/NATO/the EU should have done from the start when Russia invaded back in 2014... and when they invaded again in 2022...

[-] Eat_Your_Paisley@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago

The wests response to Ukraine for the last decade has been ineffectual and generally pathetic

[-] Know_not_Scotty_does@lemmy.world 19 points 4 months ago

Which is dumb as hell even if you only look at it for selfish reasons. Most of the high technology manufactuing and design for the soviet union was there, they had shipyards, port access, minerals, and the knowledge to use them IN ADDITION to not wanting anything to do with the soviets anymore. It should have been a no-brainer to foster that relationship and protect them with more than a paper agreement.

The American nazis and the Russian nazis are no longer cooperating. Something is afoot

Makes perfect sense to me. Fascists from different nationalities will always eye each other with suspicion. If only there was a way to play off that paranoia of each other to the benefit of all. Say, make Musk appear to only support American interests to European fascists so that he may be discredited among them.

Beyond true, the estato novo in Portugal & the Falange in Spain for instance despite both being Catholic fascist regimes often didnt exactly love eachother.

[-] realitista@piefed.world 16 points 4 months ago

If they do, it will be in spite of Trump.

A lot of the latest successes are because of Ukraine's own development in long distance rockets and drones.

Let's see what opposite statement or action he makes or does tomorrow.

With NATO's help, as one of his sycophants introduces a bill withdrawing the US from NATO.

[-] Skiluros@sh.itjust.works 8 points 4 months ago

I am sceptical this anything more than yet another vague statement.

Let's see Trump ramp up sanctions against russia (including secondary sanctions) and provide frontline, anti-air and long range strike support.
