  The Arizona Department of Health Services issued a standing order Friday allowing pharmacists and other healthcare workers to administer a COVID-19 vaccine to any Arizonan older than six months, even if they don’t have a prescription.

Importantly, if you make appointments on the Costco or Walgreens websites they will imply you still need a prescription. CVS will ask a yes/no question about if you have an exemption and leave it at that. However I think they just haven’t been updated and they are still making a general statement for more than just AZ.

I know this because it was my experience from a few days ago trying to schedule an appointment. Ended up using CVS and the nurse was fully aware of Katie Hobb’s order. She just warned me my insurance may or may not cover the shot.
