Until last November, there was at least a slim light of hope through the crack in the doorway. There was a remote chance humanity could get its collective shit together and at least avoid the worst of the path we have been on. But instead we slammed the door shut forever, closing off all hope for anything good ever again.
Let's not get too hasty. If anything, a decent wedge of humanity could make it through the nuclear winter and we'll be well on our way to that Trek future none of us could ever experience...
