Albeit I don't eat a ton of meat, I'm not a vegan or even vegetarian.

That being said, in the last few years I've found myself eating more and more veg options, because it's honestly just very tasty. I feel like veg products and cooking have made leaps and bounds in the last handful of years, or at the very least accessibility in the US has risen. I'm totally here for it.

Anyone else share this sentiment?

I agree as a non-vegan. There are a lot more accessible and tasty vegan options than there used to be. Even though I do eat meat I love having a fulfilling meal that is all veg and getting a little closer to being vegan.

A lot of my meals are vegetarian or vegan because of how much cheaper they are, which helps save up for my big meat binges once or twice a month.

Basically, I eat veggie or vegan for the meals I have to eat, and I eat meat for the meals I want to eat.

You should try chana masala

Chana masala, dal masala, rajma masala; I've never met a masala I didn't like!

Truer words have never been spoken. Never heard of dal masala before and I am glad I looked it up. Been trying to find something to use my lentils in for a while now.

My tummy motility has always preferred veg-heavy meals, rather than meat. So for me, I’m very much enjoying the shift toward more veg/vegan options that aren’t just salad (salad isn’t a valid “vegan friendly” meal option at restaurants, imho. It may be vegan, but it’s hardly food.) or black bean burgers.

I tend to get the vegan or veg option when I go out to eat, if there is one. And oh man I miss the little cafe that used to be around here that had nothing but vegan food. Oh! And even better sometimes when I have to go near Rockford, il, I’ll stop at pig minds which is a brewery with entirely vegan fare that’s so good most people who go there don’t know it’s vegan at all!

As for buying stuff for myself from the grocery, well I can’t remember the last time I actually bought raw meat.. probably a year ago? That’s not to say I haven’t bought like lunch meat or hot dogs (on sale very cheap, went into the freezer for emergency meals), and a lot of the pre-made stuff I get does contain meat, but overall it’s just not in my shopping list anymore.

When my quail need to be culled I’ll be eating them, though. That’s half the reason I started raising them.

I wish restaurants made proper salads tbh. When I made salads at home, they are proper meals with lots of ingredients. In restaurants they are usually 200 calories at best, 150 of wich are fats and oils.

Not really. We have lowered our red meat consumption which was already the least eaten but prices are helping us be better about it.
