The problem with sushi is that I can finish that entire plate in less than 2 mins, and I already spent $10.
At $10, I'd eat many more plates like this. Near Boston this plate is far more than that.
Yeah that lookslike uni so its probably closer to $10/2 pieces lmao
What are the six on the right?
Looks like uni to me. With an egg yolk?
Quail egg.
Yum
Yummo ๐
Uni with quail egg.
Oh, so it was urchin after all. The flavor's too intense for me to go for 6 pieces at once, though, so hat's off to you for managing it. ๐
Easier than you think.
Each piece literally should be picked up with your fingers and popped into the back of your mouth. Taste it as it drops down your throat.
I've never had the... uh... Forgot its name. The yellow goopy looking stuff on the left. Umi? Something like that? I kinda wonder if I would vibe with the texture, knowing what it comes from.
Uni.
Don't overthink it. It's a briny, sweet treat from the Ocean.
If you like raw oysters, I'd say it's equal. Pop it in, suck it down. NEXT!
Sea urchin, right? I had a live one once. It was... interesting.
Hmmm, what? "Live".
I mean it wasn't moving, but it wasn't cooked, either. Looked just like yours but it was still in the shell. It was alive until just before it was served so they still called it "live". I'm not Klingon so I didn't complain.
"Waiter! My meal isn't squirming! I demand new food!"
Ahh, I've had it served from the "body". Definitely wasn't living. Your experience sounds interesting.
That does make it sound better. I was thinking it might be hella chewy like squid.
No, no... Not chewy. Then again, I've never taken a bite. The whole piece just gets shoved down my gullet.
Yum! Uni with Quail Egg, Ikura, and guessing Hamachi (or Toro) sashimi. It would last 30 secs if I was there.
Used to live in a place where there was a marketplace and could make those at home.
Correct. The Toro here is like butter. I'd put this little shop against the best of Boston anytime.
Sushi is always a good time in my book.
That book is a good read.
Gimme..
I'd share. ๐
Thought that was penutbutter on the right ones. I've actually had some sort of penut sushi roll before
Oh my gravy! Delish.
Hmmm, not really any gravy. Maybe the wine? ๐
