I feel so helpless and horrified. And amidst all of this life still goes on. It sometimes feels surreal to me.
I don't think one side constantly killing civilians can be called a war.

I don’t disagree, everyone will take care of their own, but if China wants to be a true world power, it can’t just focus inward and ignore everyone else.
I guess it's not focusing inward, it is just making moves solely guided by the interests of China and not by any ideology or morality.

Not hatred, the Palestinian Authority is essentially an Israeli puppet "state". The Palestinian Authority can't be trusted indeed, but for exactly the opposite of the reason you'd expect. They haven't done anything significant to further the Palestinian cause in decades.
If no one is in charge then he's in charge.
