Members of Congress expressed outrage at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deceiving eight men who were recently deported to South Sudan, as revealed earlier this week in an investigation by The Intercept. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., called the expulsions “abhorrent.”

Before the men boarded a plane in May, officials told them that they were being sent on a short trip from Texas to another ICE facility in Louisiana. Many hours later, the plane landed in Djibouti.

It's time for Democrats to knock this shit off. Oh but the rules, but the rules.

PSA: People that openly flout laws and systems of order, don't give a shit about the rules bud. No wonder they lost. Load of impotent geeks is what they are.

I agree with the sentiment and there are for sure things they should be doing, like stonewalling and slowing down every thing they can. Other than that, what do you propose they do outside of the rules?

We can't oppose people breaking the law and break the same law ourselves. That's just nonsensical hypocrisy.

I'm afraid all the conventional rules are out the window. I mean when the stakes are becoming what they are, you do what needs done. That doesn't involve going to Congress, writing bills that will never get passed or going before a supreme court where the conclusion is decided before the case even gets underway.

Crying on CNN isn't going to stop what's going on, I know that much for sure.

What exactly do you expect them to do? They're impotent because we didn't give them any power.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago

whatever the fuck mitch mcconnell would do.

Go home and sacrifice his hand to the demon lord Anthraxus in exchange for more power?

[-] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

Filibuster everything.

They need to start fighting fire with fire. It's not like the other side is that intelligent in a lot of ways, so trying to fight with logic isn't going to get this done. Start a misinformation campaign like they do or something. Damn glad it ain't my problem, don't get me wrong. But I do see both sides of it, and democratic arrogance is how we are here too, in a lot of ways.

As brain dead as this is, maybe quit running women in must win elections. I ain't saying it's right, or that's fair or just (it shouldn't even be a thing). But it's literally stacking the odds against you in insurmountable fashion. Nothing against Kamala, but if was pretty clear right out of the gates she was going to lose, and they just ignored it.

"third country deportation"

The fuck is that?

These people are incapable of being shamed, and will continue to not care.

[-] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago

Great theatre, but I expect this to be as effective as a single ice cube on a house fire.

Third country deportations with no due process are wrong, period, and we will keep fighting these illegal actions in court.”

True, but also... How much are these flights to South Sudan by way of Djibouti costing taxpayers?

That sounds way more expensive than just keeping these specific convicted felons locked up

And they just turn them loose once they get to south Sudan? Sure, it's far off but it isn't exactly the moon. They can go pretty much anywhere they want

They're essentially just releasing covicted felons on the world

[-] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

If they keep them locked up in the U.S. they might possibly have to give them due process at some point - can’t have that!

[-] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

She won't. This administration is far to incompetent and corrupt for her to resign.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

They’ll just replace her with someone just as bad, if not worse.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

They could probably get one of Mike Huckabee's sons if they don't want to lose the dog murderer vote.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Sounds like somebody's about to have their office raided.
