I signed it but I have zero hope that it'll do anything. Has there ever been a case where these petitions have changed the law?

It usually triggers a half empty debate.

Gets a couple headlines.

Maybe becomes something in the back of the head of some MPs.

But yeah, pretty rare that they just see a petition and straight up codify it into law.

They’re too busy starving disabled people to death…

Thank you. They're already at 85k signatures and 1700 signatures per hour! What an achievement.

It's great that someone made a UK petition!

Woah we're at 90K! Just 10K short.

Yesterday I could have sworn it was 60K

More serious politics should go in [email protected].

Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
