A psychiatrist is ~~an actual~~ a medical doctor. A psychologist is not.

A psychologist is the other kind of doctor. They've either got a PhD, or a PsyD. PhD means reaearcher like everywhere else and PsyD means expert in clinical psychology

I think it's an HR joke, actually. HR can see a wide range of people in various states, hence, the psychologist bit. HR can sometimes be a bit more than hiring and firing, to my understanding.
