I have been saying that to people I know, and most feel the same way. Talking about it helps! There's no need anymore to pretend we have our shit together. If someone has got their shit together under the current circumstances they are either insane or part of the problem

What specific current circumstances?

Yeah the world is pretty hopeless but you just gotta not let that affect you. Live like the world already ended a long time ago. Take things day by day.

That's a nice way to look at it (hmm well maybe not nice, but very useful).

If the world ends the first thing I'm going to do is stop paying rent and taxes so I don't think your strategy is going to work out too well for me.

Haha that's true, we get hopelessness and not even a tax break. That said in an actual apocalypse I doubt things would be rosy either and things like clean water, electricity and frozen pizza would be missed. We don't get to pick really, but it helps knowing things could at least be awful differently, and in that version of the world there's be us wishing for what we have.

I like having friends where I can just say that and they understand, but I also understand that's hard to achieve.

Idk but there is someone I would like to tell this because I still want to be friends but I just don't feel like talking and don't know them well enough to know if they would appreciate the same memes I like. I just keep sending them stickers whenever I think about them and hope they understand ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Saying anything at all is the antithesis of the whole concept. The correct answer is to say nothing.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

But then they think you hate them

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Not if you ocassionally send memes (:

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

How do I tell this to someone I haven't talked to in 20 years because I've been feeling this way for most of my life.

msn messenger had a thing you could click if you were online (you're username would have a green circle), online but not available (yellow circle) or offline (red circle), we need that back and another option for dissociating (purple?)

I mean, there's invisible mode almost everywhere. Just doesn't show you're online

I can help! You tell them โ€œIโ€™m clearly depressed, do you know any good mental health resources?โ€

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago
[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

โ€œI was busy.โ€

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Wait for them to ask why you are so quiet and answer "I am just tired."

Nothing matters.
