There’s literally nothing left in the world that 95% of a people can agree on.

Really a link from Russia today. Russia's foreign-outreach Kremlin financed media outlet. I wonder how biased that would be regarding anything to do with Ukraine.

Hungarian news sites seem to be posting this same piece of news, which supports its authenticity. The only bias here would be whether the media choose to report this or not (reporting bias). So far most European and American outlets are silent.

So you prefer the comforting lies of the western media industrial complex?

You can either read the article that I posted https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2023/1/24/how-western-scholars-overlooked-russian-imperialism or you can fuck right back off to ml.

Edit apparently my filters have failed me and I have traversed into your wasteland of garbage. That one is on me. I guess I should fuck off. Is my source from the Western media industrial complex?

Or do facts hurt your feelings?

That opinion article is absolute trash.

The idea that the Bolsheviks fought to preserve the boundaries of the Tsarist empire, including invading Ukraine, is absolute nonsense. Ukraine was one the founding members of the Union and the USSR was the first formation that recognized Ukrainians as a nation and actively promoted their distinct national heritage, language, and culture.

The Bolsheviks did fight against a subset of Ukrainians, specifically the anarchists, because the anarchists literally organized an army and said "now that the Russian revolution is over they are weak and this is our time to strike". So they were crushed. But not in any way, shape, or form because of a reasserting of Tsarist imperialism.

So yes, this article is complete Western consent-manufacturing trash and can be safely ignored as such.

Better than the dominance of western outlets constantly pushing pro-NATO expansionism under the direction of the imperialist empire that is the United States.

Imperialist empire

Pure poetry

US is an empire no doubt there, but Russia also is one. Changing one for the other will not improve anything.

Name Russia's imperial holdings

[-] [email protected] -5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Hey now the US may be a failing empire but we're not as bad as Russia ...yet .. we still mostly pretend and keep up appearance .. but the mask slips more and more.

Strong disagree here, the US have more genocides than Russia under it's belt, have had destabilizing effect on the world for the last 50 years by making neoliberalism the defacto political ideology of the world and is the only county to use the atomic bomb(not to mention on non-military targets).

It has always been good at marketing, but under that it's all blood.

Every time somebody tries to bring up the "America is just as bad as Russia" argument, I like to look at and compare South Korea vs North Korea and West Germany vs East Germany. We basically have proof that America isn't trying to conquer the world. It practices catch and release.

America's done lots of horrible things but Russia seems to ONLY do horrible things. America helped Japan rebuild and then gave it its freedom again. Russia still refuses to let go of Southern Chishima. America is not as bad as Russia.

Having said all that, I would prefer if NEITHER of them were global hegemon.
