First 20,000 missiles, now anti-drone systems... it's strange that NATO countries expect the US to protect them. If Trump betrayed Ukraine, he will betray all of Europe.

The Pentagon notified Congress last week that it will be diverting critical anti-drone technology that had been allocated for Ukraine to US Air Force units in the Middle East, according to correspondence obtained by CNN and people familiar with the matter.

The move reflects the US’ shifting defense priorities under President Donald Trump – toward the Middle East and the Pacific – and the fact that US stockpiles of some defense components are becoming increasingly stretched.

The technology, proximity fuzes for the rockets Ukraine uses to shoot down Russian drones, was redirected from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) to Air Force Central Command on orders from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, according to the correspondence dated May 29 and sent to the Senate and House Armed Services committees.

The whole world is watching this... Ukraine will do without American weapons, but we do not forgive betrayal

Gee. It's almost like they had advanced warning that things in the middle East were about to go sideways. But, sure...tell us again how Netanyahu went rogue by attacking Iran. It makes so much more sense to believe this was an unexpected turn of events, and the US knew nothing of his plans. /s

Why is the US playing the fool? It's simple - when Iran attacks the US - the US will demand to be protected by NATO forces. They have foreseen everything. Europe will refuse, because it understands the Russian threat. That's when they will refuse to defend Europe. US is seeking for a reason to withdraw from NATO. Pay attention what Trump said to his European leaders: "Will you protect us if USA got attacked?"

If that's true, then Trump is a bigger idiot than he seems.

NATO won't refuse to defend the US. They aren't so stupid as to abandon their responsibility to Article 5. That doesn't mean the US will do the same, but NATO takes that promise seriously.

If he's betting on Europe being the one to drop that ball, then he hasn't read the room.

I wish you are right but I learned from russians that their words must be accepted seriously and literally. And Trump mentality is similar to russian mentality whats why russians adore him (Trump in russia is more popular than Putin). So I do think that Trump will do what he promiced. I do not know what exact scenario they plan - but I am sure they want to justify their withdrawal somehow like they justify stop of financing and sending weapon to Ukraine. And EU believe me, they are not so stupid to understand what is going on... They have perfect intelligence and know much more than we.

Do you know how Trump called Europeans? Parasites that sit on America's neck. Where did this data come from? It should be remembered that the USA is a former colony of the Habsburg Empire and it seems that Americans have begun to realize this. If Trump knows that the EU is using the US for its own benefit, do you really think he will help them? Oh no, he will want to punish them.

Ummm, yeah. You didn't actually read what I wrote. I never said the US would respect its alliances...I said the rest of NATO would. If Trump is banking on Europe bailing on their promises first, in order to justify his own betrayal, then it isn't going to work.

Unlike him, the rest of NATO understands the importance of being unified in their objectives, .even if sometimes that unity is just for show.

As for the rest of us hay you were talking about...I think you have vastly overestimated Trump's intellectual grasp of history. He doesn't give a shit about US / European history. He doesn't even fucking read. He cares about money. Right now...and how much. He will do whatever he is paid to do, as long as you outbid the competition. None of that other shit matters.

I understand that NATO will not betray USA. But I have a question. Will NATO protect USA if USA provokes Middle East? Let's say something big happens that makes all the Arab countries rise up against Israel, and the US becomes Israel's ally in the war. Then they will attack the US too...

Yes, they would...insofar as defense is concerned. They won't necessarily aid the US in acts of aggression or escalation, but they will absolutely defend US forces in the region. But, just to be clear...Israel is not a NATO member...so as far as Article 5 is concerned, they are not an obligation, the way the US is. If the US chooses to step in on their behalf, NATO is not required to get involved.

This would be similar to what happened after 9/11. NATO all came to the US's defense when it came to going after Bin Laden in Afghanistan...but once it was shown that he had fled the country, only the US remained. Then, when they decided to invade Iraq next, almost no one followed them.

Great answer, thank you so much. And if NATO were faced with the choice of either fighting for Turkey or for the United States, we understand perfectly well that these two countries are antagonists and the United States has often advocated for excluding Turkey from NATO.

Well hey I guess I have to hand it to you for finally posting something that isn't unhinged historical revisionism, Nazi propaganda, holocaust denial or all three.

I still voted to defederate from this shithole and I still maintain my position that you and the admin are Nazi apologists (at best) and will still continue to call you out on it for anyone else to see.

At least until I get banned.

Listen to me carefully, we live in a legal field. And in a legal field there is a presumption of innocence which means that every person is innocent until proven guilty in court. The guilt of Hitler's Nazis and Stalin's Soviets is well documented and proven in court. You are accusing people and even whole countries just because they don't support Moscow in its crimes. It's unacceptable.
