feddit.de is offline anyway (has been replaced by feddit.org). Seems you have to create one.
Well, I guess this shows my on-and-off existence on Lemmy thus far. I had no idea that instance wasn't online anymore. I had subscribed to it way back. Not that it would've been fitting given those rules anyway, but that's good to know, so thanks for letting me know.
I'll look more into what creating my own community would entail.
It's not too involved. Let me know if you run into trouble.
Edit: jus make sure you don't unselect "Undetermined" as a language option.

Why that? I did that for my community, and only selected "English".
Because some apps don't let you pick language when posting/commenting and will default to undetermined and some users probably didn't set their language in their profile.
To maximize the amount of people who can see or participate you should have both selected.
I ended up creating it and damn, note to self: don't do that at night when you're a bit tired already. Somehow I read your comment without the "don't", which... makes a difference haha.
I added "Undetermined" now, so I'm guessing it's not really an issue beyond the community being visible to less people for its first 10-or-so minutes?

Correct
Can you share the community with us? As a Japanese dude, I'd love to participate.
I'm interested in music discovery communities as well. I think if you're posting once a month you don't need to limit yourself to Japanese music communities, unless you want to.
I'm not particularly dead set on having it be once a month, I just figured that would be a good balance between "Me having enough songs to talk about" and "Not flooding the community". I considered a general music community, but I wanted to first ask whether one exists that I missed. I am also considering making one myself.
Have I got the community made for you😆🤗
!eternalplaylist@crazypeople.online might suit your needs.
Edit: I don’t know how to link a community.
Didn't read through the thread before commenting. Thanks for the shout-out mate!
We don't have any specific requirements to share music on !eternalplaylist@crazypeople.online. You're welcome to post whatever you find there.
So you created a new community? Where is it? I'd be interested. I'll likely post any Ado release.
Depending on what you want to recommend I suppose !obscuremusic@piefed.social could fit the bill.
Didn't expect to see you on lemmy if you are the same person that translates manga
I'd like to discover more Japanese music because they're nice to listen too when relaxing and help me memorise Japanese vocabulary
It's not me, unfortunately. My username is a reference to something from Steins;Gate, I wouldn't be surprised if there are other "ElPsyKongroo"s around the internet xD
All I know about Japanese music is fantastic plastic machine, and I would post about that once a month if I could.
