The alpha/beta/epsilon terminology came from the study of wolf packs, and was later debunked.
Rejected by the creator of the term itself.
The term is still useful though. Anyone using the term for themselves can be avoided - you know who the aggro asshole is.
Expected garbage, was pleasantly surprised
Frans de Waal is a hugely respected ethologist that has published numerous important books on the subject. Most of them are quite accessible and make for a fun read too.
Is this about how the wolves that were observed exhibiting the “alpha/beta” behaviors were only acting that way due to being from different packs forced together in captivity or is it about the gross PUA adjacent self aggrandizing pseudo motivational trend loosely based on the former?
The latter, except it redefines being a successful alpha as being empathetic, protective, and nurturing, discusses roles in ape culture, and reiterates that we are still just intelligent apes with technology. So it'll 100% be panned as "sissification" of males, liberal propaganda, or some such nonsense.
