And you can't make noise like he did at 6am

I’m only middle age but now I wake up early just to be conscious of not being at work. It’s a better trade because you can dream without interruption.

I prefer the night, I'm one of those night owl freaks by nature.

I hear ya. I work two days / two nights and I thrive at night and zombie all day when possible. But the draw to have a day of awareness is enough for me to get off in the morning after 12 and stay up until late.

Gotta wake up at 4 to be ready to leave by 5 to make it to work by 6 to be off by 2:30

Similar. Up at 3a to get to work at 5:30. Done by 12:30p but my hours get rounded up to 8hrs/day.

Bed by 8.

You really don't wanna see grandpa when he sleeps past 10:40.

The old people's drugs to get through the day

4 is pretty early but 10:40am is also just pretty late to wake up unless you're like, a teenager or something (or work odd hours). A lot of the day is already gone by then.

IMO it's nicest when you can keep your waking hours relatively close to the time the sun is up.

*checks daylight hours for the last two cities i've lived in*

  • place 1: sunrise 03:32 sunset 22:20
  • place 2: sunrise may 26th sunset july 15th

...y-yeah man, totally

Go to bed at 2, wake up at 10, same sleep and wake duration as go to bed at 8, wake up at 4. "Day" as in daylight will be different, sure, but that's about it. It is all relative.

And, you know, most businesses aren't open at midnight. So you're more limited in what you can do in a day.

Also, getting a decent amount of sunlight is important, and that's harder to do when you're sleeping through a lot of sunlight hours.
