Where ever you hang your bat'leth is home.
And glory to your Funko Pop collection!
That is Ferenghi stuff. It brings a Klingon house great dishonor.
As of 2022, 51.5% of American Millennials own homes.
Granted it should be higher, but at least it's a majority now.
That article says that it is due to:
- loan interest deferments
- work from home policies
- other government assistance
- rising salaries
- a (temporary) increase in housing affordability at that time
And it even says explicitly that
Housing affordability has declined steadily in 2023, according to the NAR, as has inventory, from 1.9m homes in June 2019 to 1m today. And this year, boomers are once again the largest group of homebuyers, often competing with millennials looking to buy their first home.
So... none of that inspires confidence that homes are now "affordable", and even that article ends by saying that they are not anymore, at least not like they were there for a bit during the pandemic.
Edit: still, thank you for sharing it - I did find it interesting to read!:-)
You are quite welcome and thank you for reading the source!
I still laughed at the original meme. Affordability is an issue we all struggle with.
And you are also right: something good is better than nothing at all good. Perhaps these little wins are all that we can hold onto as society slides into decay, i.e. as the American Dream dies for the younger generations... and there I go again with all the doom & gloom talk, but it's occasionally good to take a break from all of that?
Is an apartment not a home?
Nah. This is for when I let one rip.
Relatable
Within the first two months after moving into our new place we needed a new water heater, fridge, and washer/dryer. Plus a couple other small fixes. Made me feel much better about renting for a while.
Always something else...
