Wow, the checkout workers thinking they have to be cops when they don't get paid enough anyway. You can just... not.

If you truly want shoplifting to stop more technology will not stop that. The only thing which will is making food free and/or giving people UBI etc.

That or just getting rid of capitalism.

Also, fuck the BBC.

So your solution is just "let's replace the entire way society works" then?

You can just... not.

If you're working for minimum wage on the checkouts then I don't think you can just not do your job if you want to keep it, which you probably do.

Also, fuck the BBC.

??

Yes.

You can, I did and it was fine. It's really not their job to do it, they really do not have to, as long as they don't do anything themselves it's not like an empolyer can prove they're lying or would even bother wasting their time trying to, at least in our experience. Just keep their heads down and focus on the work they get paid for and nothing else.

The BBC are transphobic assholes that also like to pretend that being 'unbiased' is A: possible and B: a good thing. I can see the hatred and judgement dripping and seething through their writing though.

Yes, they're one of the many (I think The Guardian does this as well?) media outlets in the UK that use "gender-critical" when they should use TERF / trans-hate (meaning they're spineless cowards).

Yeah, that's definitely one of the things they do. However, that's not the only thing. They have a 'better than you' attitude in general and pretty much stick to the status quo.
