monero.town is a server in the 'fediverse'. The software used by this server tries to be the equivalent to reddit. There is an equivalent to Youtube too, called peertube.

Peertube really is a nice app of the fediverse. Maybe there is some marketing effort they could do to get the word out. Thanks for reminding me!

they don't appeal to most content creators because they don't have ads, in that there are no advertising related features implemented. and most can't imagine monetization without ads

It's developed by a French software collective that isn't really into marketing, they seem to prefer slow organic growth.

This year they are doing a lot of work on the Android app 👍

I guess they don't have billions to burn on Super Bowl ads either... I was going to see if I could send them some monero but they don't seem to accept cryptocurrencies
