Weren't they already in control of the subs? There's 4k admins, apparently.
Most of the mods participating knew this. Now reddit can learn what it means to moderate a sub. Without third party tools.

Yes I don't want reddit mods and admins taking over this place. When I left reddit I am leaving their mods too.
