Hi, feddit.org admin here. We are currently blocking multiple regions due to very aggressive scraping done by companies, such as Alibaba. I will forward this post to our team, to find out the exact reason to why you're blocked.
Blocking whole regions sounds like overkill. Just block the alibaba subnets. We do the same on our end. If you want I can provide you the cidr ranges.
It's definitely overkill. Every time I come across a feddit.org image, it's just broken on my end :/
it's not exactly the entire regions, but a large chunk of prefixes from asian regions.
we're currently working on some infrastructure changes that will allow more granular blocking for feddit.org, separating it from the blocking used for other fediverse foundation services, as currently all fediverse foundation services are sharing the same blocklist.

Thank you. I use my personal VPN for personal use from this IP, but I'm not sure about the whole subnet. It would be great if you whitelist my IP (at least for a year).
This sounds like your IP was listed on some automatic threat vector RTBL that we subscribe to at firewall level. This can sometimes happen with Tor exit nodes and some shady VPNs, and not really something we want to change, sorry.
In addition SLRPNK uses Anubis to block AI scrapers and that can sometimes cause problems with older or niche browsers, but this would be a problem regardless of the IP.
What a pity. Maybe I'll try to add a specific routing rule for slrnpk. But my IP is completely safe (I use it for personal VPN).
There seems to be a complete down of feddit.org right now, I get 504 errors trying to connect.

Some address ranges (prominently asian ones) are statically blocked on feddit.org, afaik due to ML scrapers etc. Though, I wonder why that specific one is blocked, as it's a UK IP. @surprised_pikachu@feddit.org @BurningTurtle@feddit.org @letsu@feddit.org
When I open slrpnk, a page flashes before. I think it's something like cloudflare but something else. I have no idea how to find out what it is, it redirects very fast. Maybe your IP got marked by that service?
EDIT: found it. Maybe try reaching out to slrpnk admins?
Anubis makes your browser solve a challenge to verify you're not a LLM crawler scraping content. It shouldn't have the effects that OP describes.

Well, static routes did the job. Now both site are accessible. I hope admins of these instances won't tell KGB my IP.
