I must be watching too many cave exploration videos on YouTube, because I thought this was going in a vastly different direction.

I don't go in for the death-porn aspect of it, but there's something intriguing about these stories of people who seem to just have zero innate fear response.
While the series is fictional horror (which may not be your thing) and I don’t recall it being too gory, you might be interested in “Ted’s Caving Journal”. IIRC, the creators drew their inspiration from caving videos, but I could be mistaken.
Also, one of the haunting music tracks Scary Interesting uses is “The End is Coming” by CO.AG music.
