The more anti trans women you are, the more pro women you are.

Isn’t Ukraine’s abortion laws unchanged from Lenin era USSR? I.e. it’s fine

It's a not uncommon belief here that the USSR was chauvinist, even amongst trans accepting feminists. They are wrong, but it's literally just "USSR bad" levels of knowledge and analysis

I think it's fair to say that there were unacceptable failures. soviet pro-natalist policy for example was ultra cringe for a long time and they ought have known better. that being said, though, what are we comparing it to? the ussr must have seemed like a city on a hill to e.g. english women in the 1920s. libs are always harping on about soviet Ls while nervously nudging their own contemporaneous skeletons behind the sofa

Lenin on the exemplary action of women in the revolution:

(. . .) It shows the capacity of women, the great value their work has in society. The first proletarian dictatorship is a real pioneer in establishing social equality for women. It is clearing away more prejudices than could volumes of feminist literature. But even with all that we still have no international communist women’s movement, and that we must have. We must start at once to create it. Without that the work of our International and of its Parties is not complete work, can never be complete. But our work for the revolution must be complete. (. . .)

I think the label "TERF" is misleading in the case of guys like this. not only is he not a feminist, he's not even really pretending to be a feminist. guarantee if you go back 5 years ago you can find tweets from him complaining about feminist SJWs.

Meanwhile Lenin:

"Down with this contemptible fraud! There cannot be, nor is there nor will there ever be “equality” between the oppressed and the oppressors, between the exploited and the exploiters. There cannot be, nor is there nor will there ever be real “freedom” as long as there is no freedom for women from the privileges which the law grants to men, as long as there is no freedom for the workers from the yoke of capital, and no freedom for the toiling peasants from the yoke of the capitalists, landlords and merchants." (from Soviet Power and the Status of Women, read it ya lib)

I made that sigh in line with our political resolution on LGBT issues. I wanted to show in the loudest way possible that communistst stand with LGBTQ+ people, the fact that it manages to get under the skin of both the far right and reactionaries who then spread our massage for us is a nice bonus. With this particular protest the call was to be as fas on the opposite end of the political spectruf as possible compared to TERFs and Nazi's.
