Yesterday I saw two pelicans passing by in the water. This is just after 4 am and of course it's always nice to see. I got to wondering this morning, possibly due to the person yesterday not cycling into work but staying warm in bed for a while longer, do animals not feel the cold the way we do ? If I was a Pelican I would stay in bed with the cycling ( non cycling ? ) person.

I realise that they have feathers ( the pelicans ) but still, surely it's a bit chilly for them. Also I was tempted to put up my hood this morning but I didn't want to look like a meth head so I'm standing here awaiting the ferry with a cold head instead. Damn.
