MODERATORS

Smith told a news conference that her government wants to make it easier for Albertans to express their political views.

"These changes build on the integrity, trust and openness that have always been at the heart of democracy and keep Alberta strong and free," she said.

So suppressing the progressives?

Suppressing literally everyone that doesn't own a wealthy corporation.

Folks it's not enough to just vote if you want actual, legitimate change. Register for the party that aligns with you most, and get your boots on the ground by volunteering, attending events, and becoming a registered party member.

People are crazy if they think the average person is alright with this.

Being a registered party member also allows you the opportunity to become involved in the process of choosing the best candidates for the next election.

The truth is the average person is "OK" with this. Or just doesn't think it effects them.

Right. Because that system would never be abused by the wealthy, to influence elections. Just look at how great things are in the US. Virtually corruption free, down there.

Yup, indeed. Fuckin' great idea. smh.

The referendum thing is an unmistakable nod towards the separatists. It basically halves the number of ultraconservative fanatics she needs to round up in order to make her "national unity crisis" momentarily appear like it wasn't completely made up.

So you're saying we could get 178k people and hold a referendum on whether the Albertans agree to have Family Day become a monthly paid statutory holiday - on the third Friday of every month?

Longest referendum ballot challenge?

This sounds like a fun can of worms! Can't wait for the debate in the newly renamed "Ledgy McLedgeface"!
