The entire biosphere is being eaten alive. Humanity is a parasite.
Capitalism is a parasite.
Humanity when we view nature as equal to us is beneficial to nature.
But we kinda lost the plot once we thought god gave us the earth to pillage
maybe. it might also be that most of the damage is the result of a few particular bad actors.... arguably a large amount of the runaway environmental destruction we've witnessed is the accumulated result of a very small portion of the population being allowed to do whatever the fuck they want whenever the fuck they want for ~200 years?
we could test this theory out, empirically. I propose an experiment where we, um, neutralize, the top 1% who directly facilitate eco-cide in pursuit of corporate profits and then we'll see if nature improves.
Worry not, we won't be alive for long.
Imagine life was a game. You lived for 2025 years. You worked 260 days / year. You made the median US salary.
You would need to relive that process 3,145 times to match an Oligarch.
That amount of wealth is unethical while humanity suffers. No one can really fathom “1b dollars.”
That movie In Time really goes to show you how much the 1% has, and how little the 99% has. It's even worse now.
And none of them contribute a fucking thing to society.
If it werent for our oligarch overlords, how would Katy Perry get to space?
Just remember, there's no such thing as infinite growth. These people are just getting better at extracting wealth from us.
And not only do they not use any of their money to improve the world, they actually actively use it to buy up every media platform, prop up right wingers and make as many people suffer as possible. More than they already suffer that is, thanks to a system that allows these pieces of shit to amass enough wealth to last multiple lifetimes while others have to work two jobs and still not earn enough to live without hardship.
All of this extraction will have dire consequences.

It’s always jarring to me just how ugly the “superwealthy” are. It’s like their blatant greed and disregard for others can’t be hidden however hard they might try.
This is definitely worse than the golden age... Their supporters (conservatives) need to realize it, though.
