Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. A Gamcube game that's being remastered for the Switch. There was a lot of speculation if Nintendo would take out some of the more dark/adult themes of the game (like the mentioned gallows) if they did remake/remaster it. Seems like it's pretty true to the original seeing that the gallows was kept.
How did I miss this game back when I had a GameCube? I flipping loved that thing

a remake was announced in a recent Nintendo press release which is why you're seeing it all over the place.
Yeah I'm honestly super surprised they didn't remove it. I guess that's a definite sign that they didn't remove anything
The one thing I hope they change is making Vivian's story closer to how it was in the original Japanese version. I imagine they're more likely to just remove the trans elements from every version of the script, but it would be nice to see it represented in the US localization this time.
