I have fallen in love with Megaton Sword. It’s a Swiss epic metal band with lots of weird influences - you could be listening to the most ugly and thick riff just to be taken straight into an Elton John-like ballad. Can be simplistic at times, but man, does it have a big heart and the singer is just very unique. I keep plugging this band because they are criminally unknown although that’s probably got more to do with us living in the age of overabundance of media.

Megaton Sword - Babe Eternal (Live at Winterthurer Musikfestwochen 2023) - this high quality recording of an amazing performance has 7k views.

I've discovered Quantic through [email protected] and it's now one of my favorite morning music.

I've still been on a huge The Indelicates kick this week after finding a podcast they made an appearance on talking about their latest release (Avenue QAnon).

Also listened a lot to their older stuff, including the brilliant musical David Koresh Superstar about the siege of Waco.

Envy - Eunoia

I missed this dropped last fall and been listening to it kinda non stop for the past week or two. It might be their best release... Dunno. If you're not familiar, envy is a post hardcore (with strong post rock vibes) band out of Japan. Legends in the scene.

Getting back into some jazz. After spending most of the last 6 months listening to classical only, I seem to have become more capable of discerning melodic themes and variations, so jazz sounds waaay better now
