I never understand why people so fundamentally opposed on things like having rights etc. get into such relationships.
Because you don't know it. Or will ignore it when you're in love.
Many people don't realize how the other person really thinks, or how they get influenced by their company. And Nanny times people just think the opposite gender is like that, and accept it as normal because the opposite gender family members were also like that.
It's the fallacy of "familiar devil vs unfamiliar god", someone who cares about you but has different views seems harmless in the beginning because you think they won't direct that towards you. People don't realize that you can stop being as important to them and then how they act with people they don't like can be directed to you.
Not saying it's good. It's really bad, but the reality is humans are social and tribal, with so much isolation of modern humans, people find comfort in finding someone.
If you can't trust your husband, you probably shouldn't be married to him
These questions are almost always, "is my relationship winding down?"
I'd tell my spouse where and when and what time he should expect to hear from you, so that he knows when to start to reaching out to arrange a lawyer and bail money if shit hits the fan. If the spouse can't be trusted to back you up, pick a responsible adult in your life who can.
