I made banh mis with roast pork instead of pork belly.
I had a delicious slice or two of a vanilla slice type thing that was made with just cheap pastry cooked and filled with Cottees instant vanilla pudding mix and another ingredient. Am currently looking for the recipe as it was delicious and very simple to make I'm told (forgot to ask for the recipe 🤦🏼♀️)
Oh I know what you're talking about. I think it might be a 4 ingredients thing.
I think this recipe is the one. Definitely going to try it!
Edit: the woman who made it and brought it in to work used to be a chef. I assumed she'd made her own pastry because it came out so good, and she readily admitted she just used a really cheap bought one. The method she explained briefly sounded pretty much like this.
