Ah yes, “Kung Fu Panda 4” — the smash hit by which all other movies are measured.
I've learned to never underestimate parents taking their kids to the box office. No matter how bad, or cheap, or cash grab, parents will still happily schlepp the kids to the movie theater to see yet another Hollywood vomit pile.
I mean yeah, kids aren't exactly movie critics. They'll love the experience even if the movie is subpar. Parents will just sit through the vomit pile to make the kids happy.
Yeah I get that kids will like it simply because flashy colors and snow white, I'm disappointed that parents are more like "No, that's what we call a cash grab, we have snow white at home" or at least wait until it's on streaming.
Because watching at home is not the same experience. Homemade pop corn and store bought soft drinks don't taste the same, nor does my 55 inch TV look or sound as good. As a parent you gotta think what would make your kid happy, not which movie is worth spending money on. Sometimes there's nothing good in the movies for months on end so you just go watch the incredibly boring (for you) 1.5 hour merch ad. Yes you could wait until streaming, but once you've taken your kid to the movies once or twice to watch something actually good, they'll want to go again sometimes. And there's just not enough actually GOOD kids movies being made.
Father took me to any movie I wanted to see even the worst.
Oof, 2.5 user rating on IMDb, 50 metascore. Haven't seen a user rating that low in a long time.
