What do you mean by "can be used by ausie.zone"? Has someone defederated from us?

The grafana image suggests you are talking about federation delays we suffered from last year. To my knowledge, that was corrected about two versions of Lemmy ago. Are there still problems?

I spend 90% of my time on local content, so while I haven't noticed any delays, I'm also a bad litmus test.

Nah, LW is pretty obviously falling back behind again, after having seemingly caught back up a few months ago.

The issues are correctable in the latest versions of Lemmy, but LW is still on an ancient version because they refuse to update. And they've said that even when they do update, they won't be turning on the multi-threaded feature which would fix this issue.

Wait what? I missed that part

The final bullet point in this thread. They say they will eventually enable it, but given how slow they've been so far (even that post is 3 months old and seems to imply they'll update soon, which they obviously still have not), I have very little faith in this being in any sort of reasonable timeframe.

Damn, that's something I had forgotten about. Well, then let's continue to get communities out of LW!

They've turned this on overnight after it came up in an admin chat channel, we're no longer falling behind but are catching up at a good rate. Once caught up, federated activity from LW -> AZ should be pretty snappy and remain that way.

Based on the graph, a comment from Lemmy.world would take 1.60 days to make it to aussie.zone, similar to what was reported here: https://aussie.zone/post/17712350

There is also Ask an Aussie for upside down questions.

If anything, I'd rather we leave that one abandoned and make one here where more Aussie users will see it.

Ah thanks, I overlooked it.

aussie.zone, admin takes requests for new communities if we want them.

But will others see it? I feel we don't get much exposure outside

If you want communities to be seen, you can promote them to [email protected]

Holy crap, just 4 days later and it's down (up?) to ~2.6 days behind for lemmy.world -> aussie.zone. Hopefully they can get the multi-threaded thing sorted out before it gets too much worse X_X
