If they find cases of companies just price fixing even when they have not been impacted by avian flu, kudos.

After promising cheap eggs and completely failing to deliver, the right mob gets unruly, and the government must mimic action really quick now.

So... they're going to investigate that its their own fault and then blame dems?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

They’re gonna reach into their old bag of tricks and find a way to blame Obama

Pasture raised liberal farms were taking preventative measures before their counterparts in factory farms got devastated by bird flu. Coincidence? I think not!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Seriously. I’ve always ponied up the extra money for the pasture-raised eggs (especially the mobile pasture ones!), and oddly, my egg prices haven’t changed. Hmm wonder why that is hmmmm

The incredible DOGE team is about to lay off all the healthy hens

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And then do what? Make it worse?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 22 hours ago

....they'll find a way to sell contaminated eggs to the population. All those pesky regulations....messing with the Great Businessman.

lol what is there to investigate this is pretty thoroughly documented situation. Maybe next they will start investigating ET

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

It was a thoroughly documented situation before Trump campaigned about fixing it. I’m sure they paid attention to the reports, knew what to do when they promised cheap eggs, and will follow through to fulfill their promise, right? Right?

Not supporting trump, but much like inflation under biden, there is suspicion that egg sellers are using the news of avian flu as an excuse to raise prices far in excess of the proportional increase caused by the actual supply reduction.

Maybe. I never would have believed it but John Oliver gave stats on the number of birds killed to prevent the spread of the disease and it was far lower than I expected. Maybe there’s something else to it. And yes, the world is a strange place when statistics from a comedy talk show are more trustworthy than from government sources

[–] [email protected] 2 points 22 hours ago

I seem to remember hearing/reading that John Oliver has more researchers on his team than many news outlets?

For example, if this is to be believed, he has a staff of 83. I love his show and he's great, but it's so fucking bizarre that a comedian is doing this better than supposed "news" outlets.

Note that frozen potatoes were found to be an illegal cartel just last year. Its quite possible that the egg suppliers are doing similar.

The problem is that I don't trust Trump on this issue.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

You shouldn't.
