I was a big fan of Sarah Silverman before she dropped a huge rant about how genocide is okay because the kids would otherwise grow up to be terrorrirsts and then locked comments for a year on IG. I got my post deleted off her subreddit back then when I posted screenshots for not being relevant to her. Kinda bothered me that she said all that shit seriously and then just covered it up.

Her being friends with Jay Johnston makes sense.

I had already stopped watching h3 years ago but what hes become in the last few years has made me feel a lot better about that decision.

It's 2025, and mfs are still making land claims based off religion and bs from thousands of years ago. Feel like I'm living in crusader kings.

Congresswoman Sarah McBride is the one that really hurts for me. First trans member of congress at a time when that kind of representation is desperately needed. She would be a ray of hope and a rare bit of uplifting news, but she has to be a fucking Zionist. Many trans spaces I'm in want nothing to do with her over it.

It's the typical "in the flag ship for my minority, yay! Also, fuck that other minority"

How about we just respect and equally support ALL minorities, or hell, ALL groups, depending on the situation?

Jews aren't bad, Palestinians aren't bad. Extremists are bad, whether they're on the Palestinians or Jewish camps. Palestinians currently have more of a point to be extremist, of course, but the extremism isn't helping anyone.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 15 hours ago

Ehhh, I don't agree with the notion that extremists are bad. The definition of an extremist is 'A person who advocates or resorts to measures beyond the norm, especially in politics.' I don't think animal rights extremists or environmental extremists are bad because I think the norm is morally reprehensible, unacceptable and unlikely to change without a pushing that norm through extremist measures.

I'm on the side of both Palestinians and Jews, extremely opposed to the side of Zionism.

Just an fyi. ALL CELEBRITIES ARE PIECES OF SHIT. Whether it's scientologists, extremist views, violence against women, pedophilia (cough Drake cough.) literally every celebrity sucks. No one should be surprised when a celebrity they liked turns out to be a piece of shit. Just watch whoever you wanna watch and don't worry about this. Otherwise you'll have to boycott literally every single business and movie star.

Please don't ruin Keanu Reeves and Nick Offerman

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is the way. Think of them as video game NPCs -they disappear when you stop watching them and only exist while you’re enjoying media.

Then go interact with actual good humans and don’t waste your life thinking about theirs.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

I like that comparison. Agreed.

Not the most disappointing, but just to name someone that hasn't been mentioned yet here:

Wife made me watch OUAT over the holiday break. Turns out Ginnifer Goodwin is a Zionist bc of course she is.

Edit: From Wikipedia

In February 2024, Goodwin signed an open letter by Creative Community for Peace rejecting calls for Israel to be banned from Eurovision 2024 amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Y e s. Christ that was depressing.

Just off the top of my head:

Steven Wilson, one of the most influential artists in my creative life. Turns out even some of the songs were even recorded there. I don’t even think he has a familial claim to benefit from Zionism, I think he’s just gotten roped in. At least I tell myself that.

Sacha Baron Cohen, IMO one of the most brilliant comedians. I don’t think he’s necessarily an extremist to the extent that Natenyahu is, knowing his politics, but that is the logical conclusion of Zionism and just being on that path is all the red flags in the world.

Quentin Tarantino, bro why

I actually can’t think of many. I’m from Lebanon and if it’s even a small part of someone’s public life we just avoid them, it’s been that way for very long. So there’s an extent to which these people are filtered out.

I also don’t use traditional social media at all so something like the Sarah Silverman meltdown you mention would be completely off my radar.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 day ago

Wait what did Tarentino do/say? I didn't hear that one at all

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sacha baron Cohen stole his act. The idea of it, not the execution. Fuck him.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Oh wow Steven Wilson is a fucking zionist? Holy shit that is actually surprising. I enjoy his work a lot. I'm not the kind to have anything for popular figures, but his stuff has really helped me through some of my low times. It's disappointing. Thanks for letting me know.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago

The Tarantino one got me hard when, why indeed!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago

Didnt really have anyone for it to ruin. I never cared about famous people. As for personal life relationships i have very few and the ones who support genocide were already pieces of shit before that anyway. Cant ruin somebody i already despise.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 day ago

Scream. Firing two lead actors for condemning genocide is honestly just ghoulish to the point where it's self-destructive.

Had some really good friends that were adamant that the war on Gaza was just war. They were good examples of Progressive Except Palestine (PEP). It became pretty hard to continue the friendship knowing they were okay with killing people as long as it was brown people.

Amy Schumer. I thought she was hilarious and all the haters should go fuck themselves. I still want to think that but it's hard.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Man that is a hard take. Amy Shumer is a female clone of nick swardson minus the creativity, which is miniscule but significant in this comparison. Both of them peaked at high school humor and never got over it.

maybe I'm just taken in by her feminine wiles

[–] [email protected] 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Rachel Riley

Made a new friend a few years ago. We performed together, wrote an act together, and used to hang out a bunch. At least, until she started complaining about my partner's anti-genocide posts and calling her antisemitic. We stopped talking

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Not a person but the song Blue Jeans and Bloody tears was ruinned for me cause the singer is a POS

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

Every time that Trump said antisemitic things I donated to one of the local synagogues.

Every since the "we blow up children with fake pagers" I have not donated to a synagogue. It has ruined my ability to feel compassion for the members of synagogues.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 18 hours ago

I'm partly repeating what others have replied, but when a nearby synagogue hosted a Zionist corporate event, some of the protesters alongside us were members who normally worshipped at that synagogue and felt disgusted.

And, for an extreme example of anti-Zionist Judaism, here's some Hasidic Jews over in London, including their Rabbi, publicly burning an Israeli flag: https://www.vice.com/en/article/anti-zionist-orthodox-jews-flag-burning-protest-109/

“The whole state of Israel is not legal from the Jewish viewpoint,” said the flag burning’s organizer, Rabbi Elhanan Beck, adding, “The Messiah will not be [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu.”

Donate to Sikh kitchens. Core tenant of their religion is simple acts of kindness for the sake of being kind. They take everyone in at Sikh kitchens. Even cities in Texas and CA that like to ban feeding the homeless can't do shit about these kitchens because it is recognized as a part of their worship.

[–] [email protected] 67 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I wouldn’t donate to houses of worship just on principle, but it’s important to remember that non-Zionist Jews and anti-Zionist Jews do exist, and not only secular ones. The Star of David on the Israeli flag is insidious propaganda, conflating a religion and a diasporic people with Zionist settler-colonism.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 day ago

You hit the nail on the head with that one.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

Be careful, some of them support zionisms. There was two incidents of real estate events promoting property sales in the West Bank inside a synagogues

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sascha Baron Cohen seems like he is probably a Zionist, just quiet about it now. But he was already ruined for me by playing a watered down shit version of Abbie Hoffman.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Be careful with "is probably". Sounds vaguely mccarthy

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 day ago

lol well you read about it and decide for yourself. I’m fine with referring to him as probably a Zionist with the information out there. If he isn’t now he certainly was at one point and has done nothing to indicate that he’s changed his mind.
