Nerdier than I; what's the joke?
Chesterton was a conservative reactionary who made an argument which goes something like:
If you see a fence and you don't understand why it's there then you should leave it until you do.
This makes some sense in some situations, but it is applied incorrectly by reactionaries arguing stuff like "No dude there's like totally good reasons why we need to kill gay people man. The reason nobody can explain why it's good is an argument for how society will fall apart if we let people love freely. It's totally a fence keeping the wolves out duuude totally."
I'm terminally online an into cryptofacist discourse. Also I removed a scrap of cardboard and the door didn't hang right after ;) hopefully the next person wont make the same mistake now.
