They talk all about “efficiency” as their reason for downsizing, but never consider just supporting full-time remote as an option and pay less in electricity and office supplies, and in turn society benefits from less valuable real estate by cheaper rents and affordable housing.

Love that most of these companies downsized over the past few years and literally won't have enough space for their employees. This is just a way to couch layoffs.
