That ship sailed when the Tea Party did their thing. Those loonies feel like a distant memory now, but it was only a decade ago...

I'm pretty sure that was two decades ago now. I remember them being all over the news in 2005.
Should have happened in 2016. You don't negotiate or reason with fanatics and fascists. Even now in 2024 Democrats seem unable to learn this lesson as evidenced by the election results.
There's no lesson for them to learn. They don't want what we want. They're fine losing if it means they can keep a progressive out of power. The people are who need to learn a lesson, and that lesson is that the DNC isn't what it pretends to be.
The DNC leadership don't want this. It's clear there needs to be some kind of shake up. They were given the most despicable and hated presidential candidate wrapped in the most unpopular agenda (Project 2025) and they lost all 7 swing states, the house, and the senate. I'm honestly still in shock on how badly they screwed this up.
I wish I could say that I was shocked, but I honestly wasn't. It was predictable. We already saw this play out in 2016 when the DNC was actively working against the choice of the people.
Is there a single politician anywhere in the world who looks as weird as Mitch McConnell?
The reason he looks like that is likely because he has no teeth remaining and wears dentures.
Our teeth aren’t just there for chewing food. They also have an important structural role in maintaining the shape of our jaw and mouth. Without teeth our jaw tends to collapse inward and gives our mouth that characteristic “old man” puckered look.
Oh that time has long passed
Nah. Republicans own the next two years.
Four years most likely. While the party in the oval office tends to lose on midterms, Republicans will most likely dial up the voter suppression to new levels.
Yeah, but I'm willing to hope that 2026 will end up like 2018, where Republicans lost their control of the House.
I guess that's it then. There's no way to stop a party of incompetents. Throw our hands in the air and surrender!
Acknowledging reality is not the same thing as giving up,. In fact acknowledging that voter suppression is going to ramp up and affect the midterms should be a reason to act now.
Ignoring that likelihood increases the chances of being purged off voter rolls without noticing.
