I certainly didn't stop. I went from Trump to COVID to living alone in a new state and depression and back to Trump. Now I live in Hitler's early days and next can look forward to world war III, Trump's genocide, and America's collapse. I won't live to see it get good again, if it ever does.

So what I'm saying is, you can pry this alcohol out of my cold dead hands.

Yeah long term planning no longer necessary.

new research suggests drinking didn't stop as things returned to normal.

Hah! Normal?

I know I definitely did. I really had to cut back a lot. It was feeling problematic. But as I started getting back out into society (I happily isolated from everyone) and wanting to socialize over beers or cocktails, so many of my friends have quit altogether. I assume many due to their drinking during quarantine.

Yup. Quit during pandemic. Will be 3 years sans alcohol at the end of this month. Is my health better? Yes. Does it make socializing harder? Absolutely.

I read the headline at first thinking it meant people started getting more hydrated :/

I missed the plural and thought it was talking about one specific guy.
