I've grown these before! Apparently you can eat them when they're small, or let them mature into what we would all recognize as a loofah. Like any vine, they need plenty of space or a good trellis.
Yes, it's a common vegetable in India.
Be careful, it can eat a magic fruit and go on a pirate adventure for some big treasure
