I most disagree with identifying Anonymous as a group. It was meant to be a label under which anyone could do anything, granted power through what it was specifically not, and the attempts by people both within and without to make it a group destroyed the value of the Anonymous label.

Anonymous is an idea, not a single group.

Yeah I think the name sort of hints at that, for anyone using their thinking muscles

The various cyber attacks by the CIA done with the "you can't prove it was us" Anonymous cover.

When the hacker, known as 4 chan, stole the celeb titty pictures

Maybe some early pranks. Most of what they do seems legit, fighting oppression and calling out bigots and disgusting people.

Probably defacing PBS?

Though I think that may have kindof been the FBI's idea rather than Anonymous'. (It took place after Sabu was compromised by the FBI and I think it was kindof Sabu that started... was it LulzSec that that PBS hack was done under?)

Fuckin' FBI.

(Also, don't know why you're getting downvotes.)

Yeah the PBS hack was LulzSec

The fact they crackdown on sectarian activity like they're the old jedi order.
