This was a better story than the headline shows. There's interviews with some artists that got dropped by the record labels with unreleased albums and how they finally got their albums released.

“I’m a mum and I’ve been working in IT, so it's really weird to be like, ‘I'm going to be a pop star' again.

Yeah, this is a cool story. Reminds me of the show Girls 5 Eva (where an old girls pop group gets back together cause someone sampled their song)

Get this man in contact with C418.

For those that don’t know, C418 made all of the original music for Minecraft. But when Minecraft was handed over to Microsoft, they refused his usual deal to own his own work and now he cannot legally release an entire album of music that was also never included in the game in favor of other, more amicable artists.

I don’t know if it’s possible, but maybe this guy can mediate an album release at the very least. Let modders find a way to get the music into Minecraft where it belongs.

That guy is a genious, Minecraft is damn iconic/nostalgic/depressing/beautiful because of that music

“The reaction was quite fun,” he says. “You know how gays can be over the top? They were like ‘Oh my God, this has saved my life!’

In all fairness, quite a lot of gays are under the top (I would assume in equal measure).

I hear it's literally about half of them

Yes, I would presume the bottom halves.

I liked this bit about Rob Johnson near the end, that he "has just the right mix of passion and affability to nudge labels in the right direction." I think that's a very effective combination. I'm sure it doesn't hurt that the labels can make some money in the process.
