Looks like an interesting setup.

The whole trailer didn't scream Star Wars vibe to me, but it's still a clearly Star Wars themed show. Probably because we practically never seen very Earth-like suburbs in SW before. Gonna be interesting to see more universe building from this point of view, I like the adventure type of show they are going for.

Much of what I've heard is comparing this to The Goonies, its peers, and its descendants. I feel like starting it off in an Earth-like suburb is a very conscious nod to that, and to remind the audience that we're supposed to see the wonder inherent in what can't help but be a very familiar setting for most viewers.

Doesn't mean the show will be good or bad, but in-universe, a planet containing at least one district with well-manicured plant life and large single-family housing is plausible, and as a bit of filmmaking, I get the intentionality. I also assume we'll be in more Star-Wars-y environs by episode three or so.

Oh yeah I don't mind the concept. It's just that it looks so much like what we see on Earth that it almost seems out of place in SW.

Looking forward to it though, there can never be enough universe/world-building for me with SW.

I just watched this and I kind of love that it’s sort of Earth-like. I’m a child of the 80s and love Star Wars, but having this aesthetic gives me a different sense of wonder since I can “connect” with that planet more. Plus, Earth does exist in the outer rim in Legends.
