I’d prefer to own a house and get equity out of an investment, paying rent is throwing money into a black hole. At least I’ll see some of that money again when selling the house.

Because what would happen is you'd end up with all the land used up with giant apartment complexes and massive overpopulation. You think owners off the land and the developers aren't going to squeeze as much rent out of every bit of open space as possible?
