I've still got one full of burnt anime DVDs

Some of them even have show artwork etched directly on the front of the discs using Lightscribe 😎

Lightscribe set a CD I had burned on fire once. The CD seemed to have some weird coating on the top to make it writeable with markers. Turns out, that shit is flammable when hit with a laser.

I wish I still have my lightscribe drive. I used to make such rad labels. Now the blanks are collector items.

Due to enshittification, the audio system in my car has decided to sometimes refuse to connect to my phone since an update some time ago. It refuses to connect, sometimes for weeks. Because of this I have started to carry a CD wallet in the glove compartment again.

Same here. I had to dig a burner out of an old PC in storage and then go on a hunt for CD-Rs.

I have like five of those bigass cylindrical cases of blank CDs and DVDs sitting on some bottom shelf in my office.

My CD wallet is in the pouch behind the drivers seat. Easy to reach behind me while driving to grab the wallet and change the album.

I have several of those, plus a like 2x2 foot suitcase for cassette tapes.

I definitely had one of those cassette logs

Reminds me of those FM transmitters to get phone audio in those old cars. You now also have Bluetooth to FM if the Bluetooth of the car itself is too crappy.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

Yeah I had those, for when you have a crappy car without cd player

I had one of those too, until it was stolen.

Back in my day your entire music collection could be stolen in an instant.

...up hill, both ways!

This happened to me but with my original Nintendo DS and the case I had containing all my favorite games. Worst thing that happened that year to little me.

I still use them for burned Dreamcast games

I have a four CD wallets with about 200 burnt CDs and DVDs in them .... music, movies, videos, ebooks, backups, data, MP3s, entire wikipedia archives, ISOs and OS install CDs.

All sitting in my closet. Sometimes I drag them out just to see if they all still work and they work just great. It's somehow comforting knowing that if the end of the world arrives, I'll still have a semi reliable data bank of information to keep me entertained until I get murdered for the last few cans of beans in my basement.

I had a few of those. Mostly for system ISOs but also for movies. Music didn't take much space as it was all MP3s.

I feel so sad I must confess To losing my music creating duress I had a folder full of Demento Stolen, all gone, Most only memetoes

You could pack an ipods worth of music in disc form, but once gone, you could wistfully look through all the cases and booklets you still had....

Best friend would pick me up, I'd grab the book, throw on 40 Oz, and roll-up in the back of the book
