I wish it was like this. In reality it's 4 gas stations 2 Starbucks, a Dunkin donuts, a Walmart, an Applebee's and a 6 lane highway.

And zero sidewalks... You may be lucky and have a gutter or shoulder to walk on, but mostly you'll walk on the street itself.

If you do find sidewalks, either people will be using them for parking, let vegetation grow over them, or are so broken up that if you were to walk on them you would break your ankles.

This is my town, at least. I live close to work and could easily walk that, but the town doesn't care about their sidewalks and it is a bit of a dangerous walk. So, I just drive.

Go outside and play in the capitalist hell hole we have created. Or better yet get a job, buy a car, an overpriced mostly empty house and feed the economy.

Meh, don't feel confined to the sidewalk. Be adventurous. There's a path to the left there, where others have continued their walk.

We have a wonderful road here in Prague. Goes somewhat sharply up hill with a speed limit of 70km/h (43.5mi/h), there's legit nothing along the road and both ends are just junctions. And suddenly, out of nowhere, barely even a bike lane. I presume I don't need to explain that nobody ever bikes here?

Sadly never had the opportunity to take a picture (not like I can just stop there), so here's one from street view, it's hard to see, but there are cyclist markings.

You know you can walk on grass right, like you are able to touch it

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago

Oh, you have a sidewalk?

Some signs are meant to be ignored

This boat that we just built is just fine --
And don't try to tell us it's not.
The sides and the back are divine --
It's the bottom I guess we forgot. . . .

With a smaller sign underneath it that says "Your fault" and the mailman walking towards you with an unexpected letter from the IRS in his hand...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

No, I suspect the mailman would be driving instead
