There is a c/mycology comm too. But yeah sounds like a good spot for it but contamination is always an issue, would recommend some oyster mushroom starter kits to get the process down.

You don't need to worry about light, but you do need to think about the growing medium. Mushrooms need a lot of carbon rich material to grow and fruit. You could look into straw-in-bucket culture for oyster mushrooms if you wanted to produce a large amount.
