I think you mean The Satanic Temple. CoS doesn't do much activism.

ETA: if I was a teacher there, I'd use this opportunity to bring up World Religions. Surely, that's their goal, yeah? /s

They aren't doing it because they want the law to be enshrined; they are doing it to have the law challenged.

They have the full resources of the state. They can drag the case out in the courts for years. Meanwhile, the Left is spread thin, because every dollar spent fighting this law is a dollar not being spent putting up better candidates.

GOP gets to use taxpayer money to fund their little projects, while Progressives have to pay to fight for freedom.

Laws deemed unconstitutional should have the litigation costs come from the lawmakers that voted to pass the law.

The way it used to work is that a lawmaker engaging in this type of behavior that was then struck down was pubically shamed and disowned from the base, unfortunately in topsy turvy 2000s you can make fun of the handicapped, suggest the population drink bleach, grab a gal by her ya know, and threaten to shoot a man in the middle of the street on the basis you won't lose any voters and... Not lose any voters? Odd times. 😩

My kid would keep asking why kissing god's ass takes up 4 commandments, they spend one on jealousy, and yet somehow miss slavery.

"Does the commandment to not make graven images excuse me from shop class?"
