Agree, but I would rather that money be used in the communities that have them than being hoarded on some Scrooge McDuck offshore account.

That is completely false. Safeway is 25-40% more expensive for basic items like limes, onions and tomatoes compared to the Mexican market right across the street.

The Mexican market always has 2 butchers, 1-2 cashiers and 1-2 people stocking items. Safeway maybe has 50% more staff for a store that takes up like 10x the amount of space once you add in the parking lot.

Economies of scale would say Safeway should be able to obliterate the smaller store in price but that has never been the case in the 6 years I've lived here. They do have more items and longer hours (3 extra hours in the evening with a skeleton crew), but at the prices they demand, you are better off going to the Mexican, Asian and Indian markets while accounting for gas and wear and tear on a car and still have a better experience and overall cost.

Large corporations are just syphons of local money into offshore accounts at this point.

I want my power bills to not be $0.46 per watt hour vs the $0.17 paid down the street where the power company is not subsidized by regular citizens for AI data centers.

Why I'm I already paying close to 3x the price for something that if real would mean layoffs and financial struggle for the average person and if not it is just a big scam that will leave the average person planning for retirement holding the bag?

Its literally illegal to build anything but single family homes that bankrupt the city's finances with basic infrastructure upkeep and no public transport options to keep a basic job in most of north america.

Those landed people that are costing the city millions somehow are given a greater voice because they own land on the constituency of some asshole getting bribes. Of course government comes into the picture because they have not done anything about it for decades.

Most of the time we do not get to dictate the hardware, software and protocols of what's used at work.

They could just provide some standard API and/or format for studios and film makers to do it themselves. Plenty of indie or smaller studios would take advantage, which would push the larger players to at least do deleted scenes, bloopers and making of kind of sections for at least some titles.

They are easy to read and were some people's introduction to fantasy/fiction (not everything is as dull as school assignments) and a set of shared experiences growing up.

Smart local devices rock though. Its not the technology but the implementation for many IoT devices that sucks 🙂

He goes into detail on some of the videos, but to summarize the "controversial" videos due less well when it comes to recouping the money it takes to film them (if at all). They (often):

  • have to account for more travel expenses to interview people
  • can't be sponsored since no one wants to sign up for those kinds of pieces and depend on ad revenue alone
  • can include additional legal costs (have lawyers review things, etc. )
  • for things that are time sensitive, they can also mess with the work life balance of the team and the regularly scheduled content they've been working on
  • stress from dealing with mega corps with the money to ruin you as a side quest

You misspelled "if he speeds up the train, he just earns a 300% profit". Literally how they work. Parasites.
